Our services What we do, and who it is for
Coaching and consulting for individuals, leaders, organizations, and schools — alongside the disability and Self-Determination services B&D has provided for years.
Coaching for individuals and professionals
For the person paying attention to their own life and career.
You came in with something specific: a transition, a plateau, a decision that matters, a role that has stopped fitting. We begin with what you came in for, find the real issue beneath it, and build a path forward from your strengths and what you most want, in your work and in the rest of your life.
This is coaching, not therapy or clinical treatment. It is forward looking, practical, and built to transfer to every goal you set after it.
Engagements include
- Individual and professional coaching
- Career and role transitions
- Leadership presence and resilience
- Burnout prevention and recovering your capacity
- Client-centered planning toward personal and professional goals
Executive and leadership coaching
For the leader, and for the organization sponsoring the work.
Leadership often asks something different of you than the work that got you there. We coach executives and leaders on presence, judgment under pressure, the move into a bigger seat, and the resilience to stay in the job without burning out of it.
We work with leaders who engage us privately and with leaders whose organizations sponsor the work. In both cases the conversation itself stays confidential — that is usually the only condition under which the real issue surfaces.
Because our backgrounds are in psychology and behavior analysis, we spend less time on frameworks and more on what is actually driving a leader's pattern, and on what will make a new one hold.
Engagements include
- Executive and leadership coaching
- Moving into a new or expanded role
- Leadership presence and communication
- Leadership resilience and burnout prevention
- Decision-making and judgment under pressure
Organizational consulting
For corporations and growing businesses, healthcare and behavioral health organizations, and the nonprofits and agencies alongside them.
When your best people stall or burn out, another workshop will not bring them back. Development days, in-house coaches, and conferences all live inside the system they are meant to improve, which is why the real issue rarely surfaces there.
We work from outside it. We find the capability already on your payroll, remove what is keeping it from showing up, and help you reach for a larger fix only when it is genuinely warranted.
Engagements include
- Psychological safety and team culture
- Strengths-based team development
- Leadership resilience and burnout prevention across a team or department
- Sponsored leadership and executive coaching
- Applying behavioral science to how the work actually gets done
Schools, districts, and educators
From surviving to thriving.
The people who serve students give until there is little left, and most of what is offered in return — a wellness day, a workshop, a reminder to practice self care — fades by the time they are back in the building.
We start somewhere different. The exhaustion a leader or a teacher names is usually a symptom of something underneath it: unclear priorities, misaligned strengths, or a system quietly working against the very people inside it. Name that correctly, and the conversation about what to do changes entirely.
For schools, districts, and teams
When your best people are running on empty, another wellness day will not bring them back. We work alongside your team to find where the strength already is, clear what is draining it, and build resilience that lasts past the next hard week.

For the individual leader or educator
For the principal, teacher, counselor, or administrator navigating overwhelm, a transition, or a decision that matters. We begin with what you came in for, find what is actually underneath it, and build a way forward from your strengths and from what drew you to this work in the first place. This is coaching, not therapy or clinical treatment, and it is built to help you thrive rather than just hold on.
- One-on-one coaching
- Leadership presence and resilience
- Navigating change and overwhelm
- Reconnecting with your purpose
Training, workshops, and speaking
For conferences, staff development days, and leadership retreats.
We speak and train on the same material we practice: what actually drives behavior, why capable people stall, how psychological safety gets built rather than announced, and how teams grow from their strengths instead of their deficits. Sessions are built for the room they are delivered in rather than pulled off a shelf, and they are designed to leave people with something they can use the following week.
Formats
- Keynote and conference sessions
- Staff and professional development days
- Leadership retreats and team workshops
- Multi-session training series
Disability, Self-Determination, and Independent Facilitation
The work B&D was built on, and still does.
Self-determination means a person directs their own supports and decides what matters in their own life. Person-centered planning is how that gets written down: the person's hopes, preferences, choices, and abilities, and the supports they need to get there. As trained independent facilitators, we build the plan around the person's strengths and toward real inclusion in their community.
B&D provides independent facilitation to regional center consumers throughout California.
Services

- Program transition support
- IEP and IPP consultation

The five principles of self-determination
Our work in this area is guided by the five principles the Self-Determination Program is built on: freedom, authority, support, responsibility, and confirmation.
Not sure which of these is yours?
Most people are not, at the start. Tell us what is going on and we will point you to the right conversation, including telling you if it is not us.
